Pulled into my daughters school this morning with a cloud of coolant steam along with me. I recently drained it all so I could re-run a tube. It seemed well bled and I topped it off the other day. I either put the cap on wrong or maybe an air bubble caused it to burp out coolant. Whatever it was I just kept driving into work as it wasn’t a full on leak poring out, it’s escaping through the top of the reservoir or bleed cap. And I had no extra time.
So that’s fun.
$16k, 55k miles, life could be so much easier...

But BRZ better

Or pay a little more to get an ND Miata. My friend bought a 2016 6MT with the BBS for $3k more. No torque dip and open-air thrills.

Can you pick me up a cheap, low mileage BRZ in Red while you're at it? Thanks.

BRZ seems to have more creature comforts but I like the FR-S front end better.

Yes; just hold tight.

As small as the 86 rear seat is; it’s still a rear seat. And therefore fits parenting duties better.
I’ve thought out if I were to get an 86 I would save enough money for UEL header and tune to get rid of the torque dip.

does that translate to prices. Are BRZs more expensive used?

BRZ does indeed have more creature comforts. It’s also the only way to get heated seats

Well I remember the price difference between the base BRZ and the top trim on the FRS was less than the cost of Nav which is standard in the BRZ and not in the FRS. but those are new pricing. IDK about used

Now that is a benefit worth considering; especially since I’m in MN and I’d want to try and drive through as much of the winter as I could.
Although me and my little 996 that could made up yesterday. I had cross threaded the coolant cap; no matter how complex of things I do on cars it doesn’t make me immune to complete and utter bonehead stuff apparently.

I know that feel. I can always count on making my most basic blunder after flawlessly completing an impressive maintenance/upgrade job.
Here’s a (mostly) complete list of the difference in features/equipment between the BRZ and FRS:
•
Headlights: HID on the BRZ, halogen projector beam on the FRS
•
Liner inside trunk lid: Standard on BRZ, impossible to get on FRS (unless you steal one from a BRZ)
•Trunk release button on trunk lid itself: Only on cars with Smart Key, which means it’s on Limited trim BRZ only. On Premium trim BRZ and all FRS models (aside from special editions like Monogram/TRD/10 Series
) the only way into the trunk is via button on dash, button on key, or putting key in lock on trunk.
•Heated seats: BRZ Limited only
•Automatic climate control: BRZ Limited only
•Illuminated vanity mirror: BRZ Limited only
•SatNav: BRZ Limited only
•Leather/alcantara seats: BRZ Limited only
•Suspension: tuned for oversteer on the FRS, more balanced on the BRZ
•FRS is 6 lbs lighter
FRS has a 0.01 better drag coefficient
